Earth Day Market Ride (Learn how to ride the round-abouts!)

Ride 4.3 miles as a group in the Earth Day Market Ride to Heritage Park, onward to the farmers market, and return to the West Side Co-op. Learn and practice riding two different routes from the west side to downtown and back, and learn how to put your bike on the bus as an alternative to riding back up!
Ami Puri is a bike educator with Intercity Transit’s Walk N Roll program and loves helping all ages of folks learn to get around by bike.
Colleen Welch: I love all things bikey related (except technical mountain biking, which scares me). Twelve years ago I gave up my car and have used my bike and public transportation since then to get around town. I’ve been volunteering with Walk n Roll for the last couple of years, helping almost every program that WNR dreams up. Last Fall I became a League of American Bicyclists League Cycling Instructor. I really enjoy helping people of all ages become confident riders.
Gail Wootan (she/her) has been a bike commuter for almost 30 years in several cities (with 15 of those years in Olympia), and would love to see more people on bikes than in cars someday.
About Our Classes
Our Co-op Community Classes program has a long and exciting history; we've had a plethora of learning partners over the years, the Free School, GRUB, the Fertile Ground, and more. Many of our classes focus on basic kitchen skills, often paired with a solid education in a particular kind of food: hearty greens, fermented foods, international delicacies, pies, etc. We also feature classes on gardening, personal health, sustainable living, and social justice. Classes are geared towards beginners, with no assumption of prior knowledge, often packed with specific projects appealing to those with more experience.
At the heart of all of our programming is the spirit of generosity. Our classes are led by Olympia Food Co-op working members, staff and community members who want to share their excitement and knowledge with you. Consider sharing your expertise with your community through a Co-op Community Class. Our classrooms are a place to experiment, to explore, and to try something new in a supportive environment. They are a great place to network and meet others in your community who share your interests.
