YOUTH Top Bar Bee Stewardship Part 1
July 23, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Enrollment: 8 (ages 10 and up)
Each youth must be accompanied by 1 adult. 1 to 1 youth to adult ratio. Want to know the difference between beekeeping and bee-stewardship? This class is designed to promote the health and well-being of honeybees, while developing a relationship with them. Participants will get to know the Top Bar Hive System, learn how to identify disease, plant pollinator gardens, and more! Our intention is to create a home for bees and steward their lives, as opposed to keeping them for their honey and other products. Youth who are 10 and older are welcome to attend with an adult. Tweens, Teens, and young adults highly encouraged! Please wear light colored clothing, shirts which can be tucked into pants, and closed toed shoes.
Oso Faulkner is a local bee-lover and top-bar hive bee steward. They look at beekeeping through an eco-feminist lens and works for the care and well-being of apis mellifera and all bees.
