awren (Akiva) schwartz grew up in Albany, NY in a loving Jewish family with underseasoned food. After eating North Indian food for the first time, awren’s life was changed. Connecting with food was the start of awren’s connection with plants and the natural world. Since then, awren has lived and worked on an education Jewish farm (Adamah), the 8th Street Farm (educational urban farm in Troy, NY), and in many unkosher restaurants. Awren loves to bring their affection for joy, laughter, warmth, community, and deliciousness into the kitchen and into their food.
