Farming with Fungi

November 10, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Farming with Fungi: This talk is an overview and exploration of a variety of ways that

mushrooms can be incorporated into a sustainable farming practice. From benefiting soil

structure, to increasing bloom production and supporting the health of your animals, fungi are

your farms newest old friend.

Fungi Perfecti, LLC is a family-owned business out of Olympia dedicated to promoting the

cultivation of high-quality gourmet and health benefiting mushrooms. In business since 1980,

we have been instrumental in developing new technologies and markets for gourmet

mushrooms throughout the world. Through our in-depth classes and information networks, we

encourage the establishment of a constellation of independent, organically minded growers

whose collective consciousness will define this emerging industry well into the next century. We

hope you will join us in this endeavor. The future is ours.

Our Mission: To explore, study, preserve and spread knowledge about the use of fungi for

helping people and planet.

Sami Kempf is a customer service representative at Fungi Perfecti and is our culture and grain spawn specialist. She graduated from Evergreen in 2012 with a BA in Fine Arts with an emphasis on sociology and food systems.  She has been working on farms and landscaping ever since. When not talking fungi she enjoys working in her garden, crafting, fermenting and roaming the woods with her furry companion.
